David Codington

David P. Codington, 72, of Wallace, NC, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at his home. He is survived by his daughter, Emily Dolph (Luke), son, John Codington (Jaina), and 4 grandchildren with another currently on the way.

David’s devotion to the Lord and love for his family was evident throughout his life. He served as a chaplain, pastor, and had a profound interest in mission work, which is a generational calling on the Codington family. He also served his country in the Air Force and Army for nearly three decades. His sense of adventure was demonstrated in his travels around the world, and his profound curiosity could be found in his private library and diverse hobbies. David enjoyed hiking, camping, gardening, history, and Korean cuisine. He had a quiet nature, but was thoughtful and had a quick wit.

Interment with Military Honors will be at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC, in the near future.
