Mr. Donald Eugene Fields, age 71 of Teachey, NC, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Vidant Duplin Hospital in Kenansville, NC. The funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Padgett Funeral Home Chapel in Wallace, NC conducted by Reverend Reid Casteen. Burial will follow at Pin Hook Cemetery in Teachey, NC. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Padgett Funeral Home Chapel in Wallace, NC. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Peggy Fields of Teachey, NC, two daughters, Donna Springfield and husband Ronald of Teachey, NC, and Kim Pridgen and husband Anthony of Harrells, NC, a son, Timmy Fields and wife Abby of Beulaville, NC, six grandchildren, Austin Fields, Kennedy Pridgen, Justin Fields, Gracie Pridgen, Olivia Springfield and Chloe Pridgen, three sisters, Margie Fields Kennedy of Pink Hill, NC, Ann Norman and husband Butch of Rose Hill, NC and Glenda Smith and husband Tracey of Harrells, NC and several nieces and nephews. Born February 26, 1942 in Teachey, NC, Mr. Fields was the son of the late Emanuel Eugene Fields and Bessie Clyde Johnson Fields. Mr. Fields was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially cooking out during family gatherings. He loved working in the garden and fishing. He worked for Pepsi for 41 years covering the Wilmington and Wallace areas. He loved Nascar Racing and was a Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan. Donald attended Wallace-Rose Hill High School and loved cheering for the WRH Bulldogs. Casketbearers will be Alfred Fields, Keith Smith, Austin Fields, Tony Fields, Lisa Fields and Richard Kennedy.
