Donald Mack Horrell of Wallace, NC departed his earthly life on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 while at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.  Born on May 13, 1941, he is the son of the late Harlee Bryson and Addie Mae Johnson Horrell.  Also preceding him in death are his brother—Wayne Horrell and his daughter—Sheila Horrell.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife—Lois Annette Murray Horrell of the home; daughter—Melony Johnson; grandchildren—Joshua Gideons and wife Kristy of Magnolia, Jade Gehling and husband Cody of Dedham (IA), and Brandon Johnson of Des Moines (IA); great grandchildren—Chloe Gehling, Bentley Gehling, Weston Gehling, Kenadi Gideons, Madison Hatfield, and Christopher Hatfield; and brother—Bryson Horrell.

Mr. Horrell was an avid sports fan, especially when it concerns Wallace Rose Hill football.  He followed the team very closely and attended all the games since his grandson played on the team.  He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golf.

A graveside service to celebrate his life is set for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 26, 2021 in the Rockfish Memorial Cemetery of Wallace, NC.  Family asks that, rather than floral arrangements, consider  gift to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital  (stjude.org/memorialgifts).   Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the Horrell family.
