Dora Joyce Carr Freeman, 95, of Willard, NC departed her earthly life on the early morning of Saturday, October 30, 2021 while at home.  Born April 17, 1926, she is the daughter of the late William Jacob and Gladys Pickett Carr.  She was also preceded in death by her husband—James Daniel Freeman and siblings—Thomas Bordeaux Carr, Dawson Boney Carr, Attie Eris Nagel, William Jacob Carr, Jr., and Charles Cleveland Carr.

Left to cherish her memory are her children—Gladys Lynn Fairbanks of Willard (NC) and Karen Comstock of Cappaqua (NY); grandchildren—Kristen Lynn Somers and fiancé Ronald Keith Ezzell of Willard (NC), James Bruce Fairbanks of Denver (CO), Kimberly Eve Gordji and husband Ahmad of Colorado Springs (CO), Meredith Kelchem and husband Michael of Kentfield (CA), and Richard Comstock and wife Yanna of Chappaqua (NY); great grandchildren—Nathan Lawrence Giddeons, Navid Elijah Gordji, Layla Yasmine Gordji, Graham Kelchem, and Harrison Kelchem.

A visitation to celebrate her life is set for 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 8, 2021 at Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services—401 West Main Street—Wallace, North Carolina  28466.  There will be a remembrance of her at Rockfish Presbyterian Church on November 21, 2021.  It will be a part of the Sunday service.  (6270 South NC Hwy 41--Wallace, NC  28466)
