Doris Ann Bishop Brock of Rose Hill, NC, departed her earthly life for her heavenly home on the early morning of Wednesday, September 30, 2026, while at home. Born on September 15, 1945, she is the daughter of the late John Carl and Berta Register Bishop. Also preceding her in death are her husband—James Brock and siblings—Alton Bishop, Jennell Ezzell, and Joe Bishop.
Left to cherish her memory are her children—Jimmy Brock and wife Kathy of Rose Hill and Randy Brock and wife Kimi of Rose Hill; grandchildren—Chris Foley of Wallace, Brian Foley and wife Tammy of South Carolina, Kelly Foley of Beulaville, Ann Marie Sampson and husband John of Rose Hill, Jen Anderson and husband Jordan of Wilmington, and Brandon Allenczy and wife Erin of Wilmington; twelve great grandchildren; and best friend—Ann Norman.
Mrs. Brock was born in Magnolia, attended school in Magnolia, and attended high school at James Kenan. She married James Brock in 1962 and the two of them had fifty-seven wonderful years together. For more than twenty years, she was a supervisor in the textile industry in Wallace. As a true southern lady, she was sweet, loving, and loved life tremendously. Shopping was always on her agenda when anyone was ready to join her. She loved her Lord and her beloved Island Creek Baptist Church was a very important part of her life where she served in many capacities during her membership there, along with a lot of cooking and baking for special events. Love and affection for family was paramount during her stay on earth, whether cooking and baking for them every Sunday lunch or hosting all holidays.
A service to celebrate her life is set for 4:00 pm on Friday, October 2, 2026, in the Island Creek Baptist Church, with visitation at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Brock Family Cemetery immediately after the service. Officiating will be Dr. Ronald Ginn and Reverend Shane Casell.
