Mrs. Dorothy \"Dot\" Pierce Stallings age 86 of Teachey died Tuesday September 27, 2011 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, John A. Stallings, Jr., three sons, John A. Stallings, III and wife Carolyn of Wallace, Jimmy Stallings and wife Sandra of Teachey and Tommy Stallings and wife Mary Beth of Dacula, GA , one daughter, Sue Cranford and husband Jeff of Teachey, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, two sisters, Ann B. Ottaway of Leland and Jessie Newland of Burgaw, numerous nieces and nephews. Born February 7, 1925 in Pender County, Mrs. Stallings was the daughter of the late James R. and Dora Piner Pierce and was a member of First Baptist Church and WMU Circle of Wallace. She loved her flowers, yard and outdoors and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Pierce and James Pierce, Jr. and two sisters, Virginia Counts and Elizabeth Maynard. Casketbearers will be Zachary Stallings, Nicholas Stallings, Jeremy Packer, Michael Stallings, Jaye Stallings, Anthony Pierce, Richie Pierce and Buck Moore.
