Obituary

Mrs. Ella Parker Batchelor, age 85, of Rose Hill, died Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville. She is survived by her husband of 40 years William David Batchelor; three sons, William James Carter and wife Dotty of Wallace, George Eli Carter of Rose Hill, and Danny Carter and wife Suzanne of Rose Hill; three step-sons, Terry Batchelor, Gary Batchelor, and Jeffrey Batchelor; two sisters, Annie and Evelyn; six grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Batchelor was born December 21, 1925 to the late Eli and Edith Sholar Parker. She was retired from J.P. Stevens and loved knitting, planting flowers and cooking. She was a member of North East Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
