Ellen Susann Hager Futrell of Hampstead, NC departed this life on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 while at home.  Born on June 3, 1942 in Huntington County, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Eli Charles and Katharine Elizabeth Deemer Hager.  She was also preceded in death by her first husband Robert Henderson Sr. and brothers Ike and Rich Hager.

In her early life Mrs. Futrell worked in a poultry processing facility and was fortunate in being a housewife the remainder of her time here.  She enjoyed crafts, embroidery, board games such as Trivial Pursuit and Uno, computer games, and Word Find.  Most of all she enjoyed having her family around her.  She was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Wilmington.

Surviving are her husband—Jack Warren Futrell Sr.; twin sister--Eileen Hager Futrell of Hampstead; sister--Pat Frank and husband Charlie of Tennessee; daughter—Penny Henderson Bova and husband John of Hubert; sons—Robert Henderson Jr. of Willard and significant other Tootsie, Joseph S. Henderson and wife Cheryl of Suffolk, VA; grandchildren—Robert Henderson III, Krystin Francis, Kyle Bradshaw, Ryan Bradshaw, Sarah Henderson, Bethany Hartzell; great grandchildren—Finnly, Hunter, Jeramiah, Oliver, and Gabriel.

A service to honor her life will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 10:00 am at Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services in Wallace, with visitation on Thursday night from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.  Interment will follow the service in Henderson-Sholar Cemetery.
