Mrs. Emma Bell English, age 95 of Willard, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the Brian Health and Rehab Center, Wallace. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Peniel Pentecostal FWB Church in Willard conducted by Rev. Joseph Tew and Rev. Dewey Ball. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Saturday October 6, 2012 at Padgett Funeral Home.
She is survived by two sons, David English and wife Joyce of Archdale, NC and Bud English and wife Jeanett of Wilmington, NC, two daughters, Betty Watts and husband James Sr. of Chapin, SC and Dorthy Grant of Archdale, NC, eighteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, a sister, Anndale Causley of Greensboro, NC.
Born September 4, 1917 in Jacksonville, NC, Mrs. English was the daughter of the late James Phillips and Ann Ward Autry and was preceded in death by her husband, John David English, three sons, Edward Allen English, Robert Earl English and John Franklin English, two grandsons, Terry English and William Allen Tutherow, five brothers and five sisters. Mrs. English loved her church and fellowship with her Christian friends and reading her Bible. She also enjoyed working with flowers, cooking, watching the Andy Griffith Show and spending time with her family and friends.
Casket bearers will be Joe Treto, Robert Allen English, Shawn Hutchins, James Tutherow, Josh Slaughter and Guy Croom.
