Mrs. Faye Brown Myers, age 82 of Turkey, NC, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Vidant Duplin Hospital in Kenansville, NC. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2 at Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services in Wallace, NC conducted by Reverend James Earl Herring and Bishop Larry H. Parker. A graveside will be held on Saturday, May 3 at 10:00 a.m. at Devotional Gardens in Warsaw, NC conducted by Reverend Reid Casteen. Visitation will be held immediately following the funeral services on Friday night.
She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Dan Myers of Turkey, NC, five daughters, Diana Hodges and husband Lewis of Savannah, GA, Patricia Bass and husband Wilton of Clinton, NC, Regina Harrell of Kenansville, NC, Mary Jo Brown of Mt. Olive, NC, and Helen Jackson of Kenansville, NC, one son, Jimmy Brown and wife Cathy of Teachey, NC, two sisters, Maria Batchelor of Beulaville, NC, and Macie Ruddell and husband Albert of Jacksonville, NC, one brother, Reid Casteen and wife Bessie of Wallace, NC, eleven grandchildren, Gene Evans and wife LeAnne of Teachey, NC, Cindy Dixon and husband Eric of Magnolia, NC, Donna Beamon and husband Willie of Kenansville, NC, Everett Brown and wife Michelle of Smithfield, VA, Melissa Tyler and husband Charles of Warsaw, NC, Jeff Evans of Teachey, NC, Adriene Holland and husband Jeff of Powder Springs, GA, Jessica Jackson and wife Tasha of Nashville, NC, Angel Venecia and husband Eliseo of Kenansville, NC, Justin Bass and wife Ashley of Clinton, NC, and Robert Hunter Jackson of Kenansville, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, one stepson, Ralph D. Myers, Jr. of Autryville, NC and special extended family, Beth Knowles, Joe and Kathy Quinn of Rose Hill, NC and Kenny and Christy Robinson of Florence, SC.
Born February 6, 1932 in Duplin County, Mrs. Myers was the daughter of the late Perry Gore Casteen and Mary (Carr) Casteen and was preceded in death by her first husband, Hosea Brown, a son, Robert Brown, four brothers, Lonnie Casteen, Donald Casteen, Joe Casteen and Robert Casteen, and a sister, Ruby Dixon.
Mrs. Myers graduated from E. E. Smith Extended Day School in Kenansville in 1979. She attended Corinth Baptist Church and was a member of Warsaw Pentecostal Holiness Church. She loved fishing, and eating breakfast at Bojangles every morning. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends.
Casket Bearers will be Justin Bass, Eliseo Venecia, Willie Beamon, Hunter Jackson, Charles Tyler and Everett Brown.
