Frank Edward (Ed) Bell of Teachey passed away Sunday March 6, 2011 at Milford and Reba Quinn Hospice Care Center in Kenansville after a courageous battle with cancer. Ed was born September 28, 1941 to Chester and Cordelia Bell. He spent his early years in Wytheville, Virginia, where he attended school and then worked as an automotive mechanic. He moved to Maryland in 1968 and worked as a carpenter. In 1969 Ed moved to Iowa and worked in the Omaha construction industry. He started his own contracting business in 1970 and continued in that until his retirement in 2006. After relocating back to Virginia in 1987 he worked in the coastal area of Norfolk and Coinjock, North Carolina. His retirement was spent in Teachey, North Carolina. Ed is preceded in death by his parents and three younger brothers, Charles, Tom and Barry. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Daneen Lee Bell, daughter, Judy Brown of Baltimore, sisters, Maggie Pannell and husband Clayton of Etowah, TN, Dorothy Wallis and husband Malvern of Mondamin, IA, Linda Usher and husband Murchison (Pig) of Magnolia, NC, Donna Barnett of Rose Hill, NC, and Robin Bell of Castle Hayne, NC; brothers, J.C. and wife Betty of Rose Hill, NC, George and wife Jenny of the Philippines, Burton and wife Ya of Thailand, Ronald and wife Laurie of Mondamin, IA, David and wife Tammy of Teachey, NC, Gary and wife Sandy of Rose Hill, NC, Daniel of Rose Hill, NC and Kenneth also of Rose Hill. The family will receive friends at the home of David and Tammy Bell's residence at other times. A host of friends, family and acquaintances will miss him but their lives will be forever changed by the opportunity that they had to know him.
