Mrs. Gladys A. Henderson Swinson Casteen age 90 of Wallace, died Monday March 19, 2012 at her residence. She is survived by four daughters, Anita Pickett and husband Billy of Beulaville, NC, Diann Woford and husband Allan of Burgaw, NC, Pansy Henderson and husband Milton, Sr. and Emily Boyette and husband Gary, both of Wallace, NC, two grandsons, Milton Henderson, Jr. and wife Shannon and Jamie Dail and wife Maria, both of Wallace, NC, one granddaughter, Heather Knowles and husband Matthew of Willard, three great grandchildren, Fallon Dail, Cody Dail and Taylor Dail, one sister, Esther Henderson of Colonial Heights, VA and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Janice Patterson, care giver and friend for the past year. Born August 28, 1921 in Duplin County, Mrs. Casteen was the daughter of the late Daw Tate and Ruthie Pierce Henderson and was a member of The Church at Pin Hook serving 4 years as a Sunday School Teacher and 8 years on the food committee. She loved spending time with her family, sewing, quilting, gardening and cooking for her family. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 11 years, Asa Swinson and her second husband of 53 years, Elwood Casteen, four sisters, Grace Padgette, Mildren Albertson, Maxine Dail and Louise Farmer, two brothers, Adell Henderson and Floyd \"Joe\" Henderson. Casket bearers will be Milton Henderson, Jr., Jamie Dail, Ricky Henderson, Billy Albertson, Sherwood Padgette and Vic Padgette.
