Born October 1, 1955 in Rose Hill, Glen  is the son of Etheleen Pierce and the late Charles O'neal Pierce as was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jasper & Viola Pierce and Lousia & Norman Henderson.  One of Buddy's greatest joys was his grandson, Chaz, which always called him "Big Papa".  There were many occasions where he would drive his scooter from Pin Hook to Kinston just to spend time with his grandson.  Mr. Pierce was also a father figure to Shannon, Greg and Baby Sheila in which he loved them all dearly.  Buddy attended East Duplin High School then went to work at R & W Construction as a pipe fitter. On several occasions, Buddy would take Chaz fishing or sit in front of the television to watch Dale Earnhardt Jr. race. He never missed one of Chaz's baseball, soccer or football games.  Some of his other hobbies included cooking, which he was well known for his potato salad.  He also loved eating fried chicken, spending time with the neighborhood widow ladies at Hardees, being outdoors and spending time with his family.  Buddy was the kind of person when you met him; he would have a smile on his face and always welcomed you.  Mr. Pierce was a hero to his children and grandchildren and will be missed dearly.
