Gloria Sanderson Deal of Clinton, NC, departed her earthly life on the morning of Wednesday, August 19, 2026 while at home. Born on April 10, 1951, she is the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Eula Mae Tucker Sanderson. She is also preceded in death by her brother—Lee Sanderson and grandchildren—Tommy Whaley and Joseph Taylor.
Left to cherish her memory are her children—Cynthia Pate (Jarod) of Pikeville, Victoria Mobley of Burgaw, Melissa Vega (Vonzell) of Goldsboro, Jackie Tadeo of Watha, and April Trujillo (Justin) of Wilmington; siblings—Bobbie Ann Odom (Ronnie) of Stevens Mill (Goldsboro), and Robert Sanderson (Donna) of Stevens Mill; lifetime friend who loved and care for her until her death—Ronald Sanderson of Clinton; twelve grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
Gloria is described by some as being “sharp as a tack” and was very kind to others but was not afraid to let one know how she felt about any subject that was being discussed. For pleasure she liked the mountains, the beach, and fishing but while at home she enjoyed her garden and taking care of her lawn. She was a good shopper and enjoyed the company of her sister in doing so. Her canine companion, Maggie Mae, was the “apple of her eye” but her family was the most important thing on earth to her. Her love for them was endless.
A celebration of life will be scheduled in the future. Padgett Funeral Home is serving the Deal family.
