Mrs. Gloria Annette (Veldhuizen) Shaw, age 68, of Wallace, NC, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, November 8, 2013 at the Wallace Presbyterian Church conducted by Dr. Philip Gladden. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Graeme Shaw of the home, a son, Jon Poglitsch and wife Kourtney of Dallas, TX, a granddaughter, Kendall Poglitsch, a sister, Marge Loitz of Thornton, IL, a nephew, Scott Loitz and wife Meg of Granger, IN and their children, Garett, Brett, and Colleen , a niece Jennifer Shelton of Lansing, IL and her daughter Caroline and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Born August 14, 1945 in Chicago Heights, IL, Mrs. Shaw was the daughter of the late Henry and Cornelia (DeYong) Veldhuizen and was preceded in death by her two brothers, Henry Veldhuizen, Jr., and John Veldhuizen and a sister Thelma Rinkema.
