Mr. Guy Vernon Casteen age 76 of Rose Hill died Friday January 6, 2012 at his residence. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Marie C. Casteen and one daughter, Maggie Casteen, both of the home, one brother, Edgar Casteen of Pink Hill, one sister, Hester Powell of Teachey, one niece, Sandra Bocek and husband Bill of Maryland, two nephews, Robert Chappell and wife Phyllis of Raleigh and Wayne Casteen of Pink Hill. Born September 11, 1935 in Duplin County, Mr. Casteen was the son of the late Bland and Maggie Jones Casteen and was a member of First Baptist Church of Wallace. He was preceded in death by one sister, Hilda Chappell and two brothers, Haywood Casteen and K. W. Casteen. Casketbearers will be Pete Blanton, Dennis Carr, Alvin Bryan, Greg Williams, Eric Hunter and Derrel Whaley. Honorary bearers will be the Men's Bible Class.
