Mr. Harold Layton Cottle age 72 died Monday, April 12, 2010 at his residence. A native of Duplin County, he is the son of the late Norman and Phyllis Rogers Cottle. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Jean Byrd Cottle; one daughter, Billie Edwards and husband Bradley of Chinquapin; one son, Jamie Mobley of Wallace; four grandchildren, Duane Modlin and wife Julie of Warsaw, Kevin Edwards of Chinquapin, Brittany Verricchia of St. Petersburg, Florida, Matthew Verricchia of Plant City, Florida; one brother, Eugene Cottle and wife Ann of Willard; two sisters, Marcelle McGowan and husband Robert of Wallace and Joan Sluder and husband George of Willard. Mr. Cottle is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Melodye Verricchia.
