Mr. Harold B. Evans, age 84 of Wallace, NC, went to his eternal home Saturday, April 20th, 2013. He was surrounded by his family at his home. There will be a \"Celebration of Life\" service 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Wallace First Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Alan Thompson and Rev. Russ Evans. A visitation will be held following the service at the church. The family will receive at other times at his home. Born in Magnolia, NC on April 15, 1929, he was the son of the late John William and Bertha (Batts) Evans and was preceded in death by three brothers, Stacy Evans, Edwin Evans, and Wendell Evans and a sister, Eldred Wells. Harold is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley (Best) Evans of the home, three sons, Russ Evans and wife Ann of Kenansville, NC, Mark Evans and wife Bridgett of Wallace, NC, and David Evans and wife Lisa of Apex, NC, a daughter, Becky Judge and husband Michael of Rose Hill, NC, five grandchildren, Hannah Evans, Abby Evans, Austin Evans, Eden Evans and Rebecca Judge, two brothers, Darwin Evans and wife Dorthea, and John Evans, both of Mt. Olive, NC and several nieces and nephews. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Wallace First Baptist Church 408 West Main Street, Wallace N.C. 28466.
