Mr. Harvey Leroy Pierce age 74 of Wallace died Wednesday November 21, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday November 24, 2012 at Church of Pin Hook conducted by Rev. George "Buster" Price.  Burial will follow at Dail Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday at Church of Pin Hook.

He is survived by two daughters, Regina Cole and husband Gary of Pin Hook, NC, and Amy Pierce and fiancee,  Nicholas Boyette of Pin Hook, NC, two grandchildren, Kristen Cole of Pin Hook, NC and Owen Rivenbark of Burgaw, NC and several nieces and nephews.

Born July 22, 1938 in Sampson County, Mr. Pierce was the son of the late John Lewis and Pettie Alice Strickland Pierce and was a member of the Church of Pin Hook. He attended Chinquapin High School, worked at J. P. Stevens for 25 years, helped on farms mowing and bailing hay and loved being on a tractor and driving a spreader truck. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Joyce Dail Pierce, four brothers, Garland Pierce, Gordon Pierce, Herman Pierce, Donald Pierce and three sisters. He enjoyed mowing grass, sitting on his front porch, watching Mark Martin (his favorite Nascar driver), and most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Casket bearers will be Jamie Dail, Stephen Wadsworth, Mike Walker, Larry Walker, Johnny Pierce and Leslie Lloyd.
