Ms. Hazel Blanton Wood, age 96, of Willard, died Friday, December 31, 2010 at the Brian Center in Wallace. Born in Bladen County, Ms. Wood was the daughter of the late Herbert B. and Josephine Rackley Blanton. She loved sewing, gardening and cooking. She was a member of Wallace United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Tamara K. Wood and Blanda Jo Wood; one son-in-law Lee J. Roberts. She is survived by two daughters, Faye W. Roberts of Columbia, SC and Nan Hall of High Point; three sons, Larry N. Wood and wife Carolyn of Wallace, Sammy R. Wood of Willard and Terry S. Wood of Willard; three sisters, Anna Rivenbark of Burgaw, Vada Warren of Wilmington and Eileen Fussell of Rose Hill; 11 grandchildren, Susan King and husband Bill, Doug Roberts and wife Mandy, Michael J. Wood, Nanette Price and husband Keith, William Hurley, David Hall and wife Jill, Jason Hall and wife Marjorie, Greta Ann Thompson and husband Dave, T.J. Wood, Amanda Wood and Terrie Wood; 11 great grandchildren. Honorary Casketbearers will be Doug Roberts, David Hall, Jason Hall, Michael Wood, Elvin Rooks, Steve Wood, Parker Roberts and Brad Hurley.
