Mrs. Helen Doris Brown, known affectionately as "Buck", age 91 of Wallace, NC, went home to be with the Lord on October 10, 2015 at Golden Care in Wallace, NC. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, October 11 at 5:00 p.m. at Little Creek Cemetery in Rose Hill, NC conducted by Dr. Ronald Ginn.

Buck is survived by two sons, George Allen Brown and wife Susan of Rose Hill, NC and Joe Brown and wife Barbara of Wallace, NC, a daughter, Pamela B. Stokes of Burgaw, NC, her grandson, Chris Brown and wife Chasity of Rose Hill, NC, her granddaughter, Kristen Brown of Leland, NC and her great grandson, Daniel Carroll of Rose Hill, NC.

Buck was born on July 27, 1924 in Duplin County, NC to the late Eddie and Nealie Rivenbark Evans. She is also predeceased by her husband, George Willis Brown, an infant son and her son in law, Ben Stokes.

She was a life-long member of Island Creek Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for more than 45 years. She was a loving Mother to her family and loved her Church. She loved her two grandchildren and taught them how to can and put up vegetables from the garden. She loved to cook and bake and won many ribbons for her delicious cakes.

In lieu of flowers, Buck requested memorials be made in her memory to Island Creek Baptist Church 237 Pasture Branch Road Rose Hill, NC 28458.
