Henry Floyd Pickett, Sr. age 78 entered into the gates of heaven on September 11, 2013 at his home in Rocky Point, NC. He was a man who committed his life to his Lord and Savior.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Pickett-Watkins Family Cemetery on Little Kelly Road in Rocky Point, NC conducted by the Reverend Larry Bonham.
He was born on July 12, 1935, son to the late William Thomas and Elsie Bell Pickett in New Hanover County. He worked for Dickerson, Inc. and later retired from Southern Iron and Metal Inc. from Wilmington. He loved his three little dog companions, his pet Parrot, as well as his farm animals.
He is survived by two sons, Henry Tye (Judy) Pickett, Jr. and James (Beverly) Pickett, two daughters, Wanda Pickett and Judy Holliday, six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, a sister, Nancy Roberta Ducoin, two brothers, Edward Gurganious and Teddy Rhodes Pickett and several nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed.
Mr. Pickett was preceded in death by a brother, William Clarence Pickett and a sister, Edna Pickett Gurganious.
