Mr. Hullie Jones age 78, of Clayton, Delaware died Saturday, September 18, 2010 at his residence. A native of Duplin County he was born September 24, 1931 to the late Willie Ashley and Mattie Jane Futrell Jones. Hullie was a life-long resident of the Wallace area having relocated to Delaware three months ago. He died peacefully at home after a six month battle with cancer, surrounded by his children. Hullie was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He attended Island Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed flipping quarters and hanging out at Parkers Station. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years Shirley Tyndell Jones; two brothers, David Jones and Bobby Jones; one sister, Hilda Stimpson. Survivors include his wife Cynthia Jones of Wallace; three daughters, Kim Widener and husband Dan of Clayton, Delaware, Kathy Jackson of Wilmington, Delaware and Michelle Matthews and husband Joe of Teachey; two sons, Todd Jones and wife Dee of Watha and Michael Jones of Wallace; two step daughters and two step sons; one brother, Bill Jones and wife Ina Ruth; 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
