Mrs. Inez Sholar Hanchey, age 98 of Wallace, NC, passed away September 13, 2014 at Golden Care in Wallace, NC. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel in Wallace conducted by the Reverend Larry Kelley. Burial will follow at Little Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. She is survived by her son, George Allen Hanchey and wife Annie of Wallace, NC, two grandchildren, Carla Hanchey-Edwards and husband Mark of Wallace, NC and North Myrtle Beach, SC and Ronnie Hanchey and wife Ramona of Wallace, NC, three great grandchildren, Kord Hanchey, Tanner Hanchey and Eric Hanchey all of Wallace, NC. Born December 9, 1915 in Duplin County, NC, Mrs. Hanchey was the daughter of the late McNeal and Sula Simpson Sholar and was preceded in death by her husband, George Melvin Hanchey, five sisters, Louise Sholar Sword of Wallace, NC, Ruth Sholar Lanier of Chinquapin, NC, Naomi Sholar Moricle of Reidsville, NC, Nealie Sholar Kidd of Wallace,NC and Sula Jeanette Sholar of Wallace, NC and one brother, McLeon Sholar of Wallace, NC. Inez was a member of Oakdale PFWB Church and attended North East Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and fellowship with her family and friends.
