James Allen Jones

Nov 6, 1956 — Jul 14, 2026

James Allen Jones, 69, of Wallace, NC passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.

James was born November 6, 1956, in Rose Hill to the late W.R. and Susie Jones. He is survived by his wife Blanche Jones; children - Sarah, Jessica (Billy), Amanda (Ronnie); brothers – Glenn (Robin) and Billy Jones (Winnie) and 7 grandchildren. He graduated in 1975 from Wallace Rose Hill. He served in the United States Army where he received his infantry awards. He met the love of his life Blanche Trimble Jones, while James was away. He stayed in close contact with his parents and brothers. They talked on a weekly basis.

James was a quiet man. He loved his whole family. He always showed up for everyone and never expected anyone to show up for him. He was close with his family. James’s daughters knew no matter what he would show up. Everyone knew that if they called or texted, he would be there anytime. James got his CDL the day that he turned 18. James loved being out on the open road. He would take his daughter Jessica on the truck with him when she was little. He drove for independent contractors. Then he decided to come off the road and work for Smithfield Foods which later became Murphy Brown.

James loved to cook and watch movies with his daughter. Sarah and James would sit up late at night enjoying each other’s company. He would call his children and grandchildren daily. He enjoyed his weekly trips with his son-in-law Billy. He was very close to his brothers Glenn and Billy Jones. He was very proud of his grandsons Mason and Sam and all their achievements. He enjoyed taking them to football games and wrestling matches. They have a lifetime of memories of just the three of them. Each of his granddaughters have a lifetime of memories themselves. Their Pa would cook breakfast every Sunday morning. He would cook each one of them their eggs just how they wanted and whatever they wanted with them. Whether it was pancakes or French toast. He would take Genna, Ally, Miranda, Gabby and Abby to Wilmington for brunch during their summers out of school. He would also take them to school and pick them up. He was such a family man that even his nieces and nephews knew if they called and needed him, he was there.
