Mr. James \"Jamie\" Dixon Teachey, age 47 of Watha, NC, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Wake Medical Center, Raleigh, NC. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Wallace United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Bob Kretzu, Rev. Brad Carter, and Rev. Carl Pulliam. Burial will follow at Rockfish Cemetery. The family will receive from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Padgett Funeral Home, Wallace.
He is survived by his mother, Patsy Cottle Teachey of Rose Hill, NC, father, James \"Knott\" Teachey and wife Sue Denning Teachey of Wallace, NC, two sisters, Angela Pulliam and husband Rev. Carl Pulliam of Greensboro, NC and Robin Scott and husband Joe Scott of Wallace, NC, six nephews, Zach, Tristan and Joel Pulliam, Tyler and Nolan Likens and Joe Scott III, and a niece, Mary Landin Scott.
Born July 29, 1965 in Wilmington, NC, Jamie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herbert and Adele Cottle, and George Dixon and Margaret Teachey. He graduated from Harrells Christian Academy in 1983 and went on to Lees-McRae College and Wayne Community College. Jamie attended Kingdom Builders Church where he served as a member of the building team. He loved the Lord and enjoyed talking about Bible prophecy. Jamie was a member of Rockfish Country Club and Duplin County Ducks Unlimited. Hunting, fishing, golfing, and watching his nephews play sports were some of his favorite things along with spending time with his family, friends, and his pet dogs.
Casketbearers will be Danny Earl Sanderson, Joseph Bryant, Frank Blossom, Glenn Mobley, Scott Robinson, Jim Russ, Chris Wells and David Bryant. Honorary casketbearers will be Alex Squires, Dell Murphy, Tony Graham Bradshaw and Jason Kerr.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Kingdom Builders Building Fund, 1504 N Norwood St, Wallace, NC 28466.
