Mr. James Pratt Matthews age 85 of Teachey died Wednesday July 21, 2010 at the Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation in Wallace. He is survived by three daughters, Debra M. Thompson of Watha, NC, Betsy M. Brice and husband Russell of Wallace, NC and Karen M. Snyder of Teachey, NC; six grandchildren, Lesley A. Etter of Leland, NC, Michelle Jenkins of Harrells, NC, Tiffany Cole and husband Paul of Pikeville, NC, Anthony Snyder and Sarah Snyder both of Hampstead, NC and Jonathan Brice of Wallace, NC; five great grandchildren, Gage Jenkins, Cole Jenkins, Briceson Cole, Julia-Ann Cole and Meredith Snyder; one sister, Maryann M. Anders of Zebulon, NC. A native of Duplin County Mr. Matthews is the son of the late Benjamin William and Idella Register Matthews. He was also preceded in death by his wife Julie Paluck Matthews, four sisters and seven brothers. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and a veteran of World War 11 having served in the US Army Air Corp.
