Mr. James Edward Rackley, Sr. age 81 of Kinston died Tuesday March 22, 2011 at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Mrs. Helen Ambler Rackley, of the home, one son, James Edward Rackley, Jr. and wife Patti, one daughter, Jane Rackley Irwin and one sister, Gertrude Kincaid, all of Wilmington, NC, two brothers, John O. Rackley of Havelock, NC and Frank A. Rackley of Florence, SC, two grandchildren, James Edward Rackley, III and M. Parker Rackley. Born in Duplin County, Mr. Rackley was the son of the late John F. and Daisy Teachey Rackley and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Kinston. He loved singing in the choir and working with meals on wheels. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 40 years, Grey Teachey Rackley and one sister, Priscilla Wichard.
