Janet Faye Teachey Register of Rose Hill passed from her earthly life to her heavenly home on the early evening of April 8, 2026 while in the ECU Health Duplin Hospital. Born on August 24, 1935, she is the daughter of the late Herbert Raymond and Janie Mae Batchelor Teachey. She was also preceded in death by her husband—William Luther “Billy” Register; brother—Raymond “Tuggy” Teachey; and grandson—Roger Croom, Jr.
Left to cherish her memory are her children—Connie Register Blake of Rose Hill, Ray Register and wife Pam of Wallace, and Annette Register of Rose Hill; grandchildren—Tiffany Homrighausen (PJ) of Florida, Ashley Ryan of Rose Hill, Samantha Artis (Jamal) of Maryland, Mathew Register (Ashley) of Rose Hill, Tori Cavenaugh (Wesley) of Penderlea, Kayla Register of Burgaw, Tammy Bowen (Jason) of Wallace, Frankie Rodeffer (Rob) of Winchester (VA), Tyler English of Wallace, and Emery Trujillo of Wallace; sister—Joyce “Tiny” Wahab of Cary; sister-in-law—Lynda Moore; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Register attended school in Duplin County where she played high school basketball and later graduated from East Carolina University after her first child was born. She taught in the Duplin County School system for thirty years, mainly at East Duplin where she taught high school business courses in typing and bookkeeping. She was a loyal and dedicated member of the Dobson Chapel Baptist Church where she played the piano for more than seventy-five years. She loved all her family very dearly and taught them the values of a good life.
The family will greet friends at a visitation set for 6-8:00 p.m. on Saturday night, April 11, 2026 in the chapel of Padgett Funeral Home in Wallace, NC. A service to celebrate her life is set for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, 2026 in the Dobson Chapel Baptist Church.
