Mrs. Janie Lorene Gresham Morgan, age 91 of Wallace, NC, died on April 24, 2017 at her residence. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Wallace Presbyterian Church conducted by Dr. Philip Gladden and Rev. Wanda Gresham Simmons. A reception will follow the services in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be at Gresham Family Cemetery in Sarecta, NC at a later date.

Lorene is survived by her daughter, Ann Henderson of Wallace, her son, R. L. Pickett and wife Claudette of Beulaville, her step son, Dan Van Orden and wife Julie of Texas, grandchildren, Rhonda Cave and husband Greg of Wallace, NC, David Pickett and Lauren Pickett of Beulaville, NC, Tess Harden and husband Adam of Texas, great grandchildren, Kendell and Kinsey Cave and Monroe and Axton Pickett, brothers, Arnold Dean Gresham of Beulaville and Walter Vernell Gresham of Beulaville and many nieces and nephews.

Lorene was born on September 20, 1925 in Duplin County, NC to the late Amos Alexander Gresham and Janie Elizabeth Gavin Gresham. She is also predeceased by her husband, Harold Owen (Hank) Morgan, brothers, Wilbur Gresham, Odell Gresham and Colon Gresham and sisters, Mamie Rosenburg, Doris Jones, Pauline Griffin, Charlotte Rhodes, Elma Smith and Elsie Boyette.

Lorene loved her flowers and garden. People have been known to stop at her house and take pictures of her beautiful flowers and garden. She was known for having a great sense of humor. She loved spending time with her family as well as special friends, Gladys Sikes, Jessie Murphy and other Stevens Street friends.
