Ms. Jean Marie Jones, age 58 of Wilmington, NC passed away on Wednesday, May 28 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel in Wallace, NC. Burial will follow at Parker-Brooks Family Cemetery in Rose Hill, NC. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Padgett Funeral Home and Cremation Services Chapel. She is survived by her mother, Mildred Alene Parker Schineller, two sons, Sal Messina of Long Island, NY, and Michael Riccardi of Wilmington, NC, a daughter, Stephanie Messina of Long Island, NY, three sisters, Deborah Wheeler and husband Ashley of Lake City, SC, Kathy Gallagher and husband Kevin of Wilmington, NC, and Donna Jones of Port St. Lucie, FL and several nieces and nephews. Ms. Jones was born April 28, 1955 in Long Island, NY to Mildred Alene Parker Schineller and the late George Anthony Jones and was preceded in death by her grandparents, Katherine Jones and Lucy and husband Jake Parker. Jean was a graduate of Smithtown Central High School in Long Island, NY in 1973. During her time in high school, during her junior and senior, she attended a program that allowed her to gain her LPN license. She later went to work for Huntington Hospital for more than 20. Her interests included photography, working out at the gym, dancing and playing the piano. Casket bearers will be announced at a later date.
