Mrs. Jessie Brice Carr age 95 of Wallace died Tuesday August 7, 2012 at the Brian Center in Wallace. She is survived by a daughter, Ann Fussell and husband David of Wallace, NC, a son, William Brice Carr and wife Ruby of Ashboro, NC, six grandchildren, William "Bill" Carr and wife Carolyn of Winston Salem, NC, Charles Carr of Wilmington, NC, Angela Walkup and husband Pete of Gig Harbor, WA, Dave Fussell and wife Angie of Wallace, NC, Patrick Fussell of Rose Hill, NC, and Jonathan Fussell and wife Leah of Wallace, NC, eleven great grandchildren, Brice Carr, Gibson Carr, Grayson Fussell, Zackary Fussell, James David Fussell, Ayden Fussell, Camryn Fussell, Marisa Montgomery, Chloe Walkup, Charlotte Walkup, Emma Walkup and several nieces and nephews.

Born October 16, 1916 in Sampson County, Mrs. Carr was the daughter of the late William and Mary McClung Brice and was the wife of the late Gibson Sloan Carr, Sr. and was a member of Rockfish Presbyterian Church. She loved reading, playing the piano, walking, gardening and received a plaque for being the "Jewel" of the neighborhood, and especially loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by two sons, Gibson Sloan Carr, Jr. and Charles Edward Carr, two brothers, James Brice and Spencer Brice, four sisters, Willie Conner, Lena Peterson, Ruth Futrell and Estelle Bland and stepmother, Alberta Blanton Brice.

Casket bearers will be Lee Dail, Rob Braswell, Charles Carr, Gray Fussell, Jonathan Fussell, Brice Carr and Gibson Carr.
