Mr. Jessie Franklin Lanier age 81 of Wallace died Thursday March 24, 2011 at Milford & Reba Quinn Hospice Care Center in Kenansville. He is survived by one daughter, Geraldine Lanier Creech and husband Jimmy of Wallace, three step-sons, Jackie Aikens of Wilmington, Ronnie Aikens and wife Becky of Mt. Olive, Jimmy Aikens and wife JoAnn of Wilmington, one foster son, Ronnie Murray and wife Linda of Wallace, two sisters, Janie Edwards and husband Mervin of Beulaville and Edna Hatcher of Burgaw, one brother, J. W. Lanier and wife Sadie of Thomasville, two grandchildren, Jimmy Creech, Jr. and Jason Creech, four step-grandchildren, Melissa, Amy, Michelle and Ronnie and two great grandchildren, Morgan Creech and Cal Creech. A native of Duplin County, Mr. Lanier was the son of the late Jodie Wilson and Viva L. Lanier and a member of Wallace Pentecostal Holiness Church. He loved animals, growing produce and fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Lena Chadwick Lanier, two sisters, Dessie Williams and Josephine Jarman. Casketbearers will be Roy Blanton, Luke Bradshaw, Thomas Smith, Donnie Mobley, Tim Whaley and Harvey Jones.
