Mr. Joseph James Bishop age 68 of Rose Hill died Wednesday August 18, 2010 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alice Blanton Bishop, of the home, two daughters, Mrs. Sarah Barr and husband George and Dawn Bishop, both of Beulaville, a son, Durrell Bishop of Raleigh, three step-daughters, Mrs. Teresa Eakins and husband Mike, Mrs. Faith Perez and husband Martin and Mrs. Kimberly Harrell and husband Rob, grandchildren, William Thornton, Jessica Maready, Brittany Barr and Brooke Barr, step-grandchildren, Mrs. Melissa Chinn and husband Andy, Michael Eakins and wife Deanna, Mrs. Tabitha Fowler and husband Kendall, Chris Harrell, Martin Perez, Landon Harrell, Angelia Perez, Thomas Harrell and Aaron Harrell, step-great grandchild, Luke Eakins, two sisters, Jenell Ezzell and Doris Brock and husband Jamie and one brother, Alton Bishop and wife Barbara. A native of Duplin County, Mr. Bishop was the son of the late John Carl and Bertha Register Bishop and was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Albertson Bishop. Casketbearers will be Randy Brock, Jimmy Brock, Darret Ezzell, Darron Ezzell, Kent Ezzell and Al Paquette. Honorary bearers will be Adult Sunday School Class and Marvin Pridgen.
