Mr, Joseph Clarence "JC" Knowles age 82 of Wallace died Friday August 3, 2012 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center in Wilmington.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lewelyn Jones Knowles, two daughters, Brenda Knowles McArthur and husband Charles, Lynette Knowles Williams and friend Steven, three grandchildren, Allison Moore (Nathan), Charley McArthur and Jordan Williams, one great grandchild, McArthur Moore, Sister, Mary Lee Strickland (Walter), Brother, Marion Knowles (Linda), special nieces, Dedra Powell (Bill), Cynthia Merritt, Patricia Wells, special sister-in-law, Melva Matthews.

Born February 17, 1930 in Rose Hill, NC, Mr. Knowles was the son of the late Joseph Thomas and Stella Harrell Knowles. He was a member of Willard Baptist Church and served in the US ARMY with an Honorable Discharge. He was employed by Ideal Cement Company, JP Stevens Company and was a farmer. He loved to go hunting, working in the yard, enjoyed being with his grandchildren and enjoyed being a member of Woodman of the World.
