Joshua Riley Pittman, 33, of Rose Hill, NC departed his earthly life on July 26, 2025, while at home.  Born on January 6, 1992, he is the son of Deborah Kaye Hamilton Murphy and Jacob Pittman. Joshua was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents—Thomas Floyd and Nora Estelle Baxley Hamilton and paternal grandparents—Paul Aaron and Elenora Chilcote Pittman.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents—Deborah Kaye Murphy and stepfather Jeffrey Kendall Murphy of Rose Hill; father—Jacob Alexander Pittman of Garner; stepbrother Justin Grant Murphy of Rose Hill; and best friends—Jamaal Boney of Wallace and Keith Oxendine of Florida.

Joshua did not allow his health limitations to slow him down during his shorter than normal life here on the earth.  His sweet and loving disposition singled him out as being "one of a kind" when in the confines of any group in which he was a part.  It was a delight for him and his stepbrother Justin to assist in caring for their mother.  He enjoyed classic "rock and roll" music with Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry as his heroes.  As an extension of his high school creative writing classes, he wrote his own comic books.  He cared most of all for his family and loved them beyond measure.  His passing leaves a void in the lives of all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life is set for 2:00 p.m. on August 9, 2025, in the Wallace Church of God.  Officiating will be Mr. Wade Horrell and Reverend Susan Matthews Brown.  Padgett Funeral Home is assisting the Pittman family.
