Joyce Lynn Sloan, 45, of Rose Hill went to her Heavenly home on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Vidant Duplin Hospital. She was born in Kenansville, NC on August 10, 1971 to Terry Lane Sloan and Jackie Lanier Sloan of Chinquapin, NC. She is survived by her spouse Carla Bradshaw, of the home. Along with her parents, she is also survived by her sisters Terri Lanier of Chinquapin, NC and Michele Rivenbark and husband Jeff of Beulaville, NC, nieces Sydney Lanier of Chinquapin, NC, Zoe and Mylee Rivenbark of Beulaville, NC, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and friends. Joyce loved her family and friends so much, especially her nieces, and she was truly loved by them all. Joyce was a huge Carolina Tarheel fan. She loved to cook and bake, especially for her "girls" at DSS. She loved Christmas and did her Christmas shopping year around. Joyce graduated from East Duplin High School in 1989. After graduating UNCW, where she earned her bachelor's degree, she began a 22 year career at the Dept. of Social Services in Duplin County, where many lifelong relationships were made. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Padgett Funeral Home of Wallace at 2:30 p.m. with visitation at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Park, Watha, NC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Joyce.
