Karen Ann Carter Brown of Rose Hill, NC departed her earthly life during the early morning of Wednesday, February 17, 2021 while at Vidant Duplin Hospital in Kenansville, NC.  Born on July 30, 1970 in Duplin County, she is the daughter Danny Thomas Carter and the late Carol James Carter.  In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her husband--Tony Wayne Brown.

Left to cherish her memory are her father--Danny Thomas Carter of Rose Hill; children--James Leach and wife Jaime of Boise (Idaho), Justin Leach of Rose Hill, Kimberly Brown of Rose Hill, and Amanda Hernandez of Rose Hill; grandson--Wyatt Corbett; and brother--Joseph H. Sanderson of Rose Hill.

Karen was born in Duplin County and spent a great deal of her life there.  She worked in various capacities, including management of swine farms, for local leaders in swine and poultry production.

No services are planned at the present for Mrs. Brown.  The family is being assisted by Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services.
