Mrs. Brinkley was born in Pender County and received her public education there. She later went to school to become a nail technician and spent time in this profession, while working also at Chloride in Burgaw for a period of time. Her main joy in life was taking care of her family as a homemaker. She was known as a loving mother and a sweet and kind lady.
