Miss Lenner May Carter, age 95 of Wallace, NC, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Day Spring of Wallace. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Padgett Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel conducted by Pastor Billy Toler and Rev. Sam Sumner. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service and other times at the home. Burial will follow in Brice Cemetery, Wallace. Born July 30, 1918 in Duplin County, Miss Carter was the daughter of the late Thomas Hill Carter and wife Emma (Hanchey) Carter and is preceded in death by seven sisters, Mrs. Meta Stokes, Mrs. Canary Mozingo, Mrs. Annie Kirk, Mrs. Gladys Maready, Mrs. Winnie Mae Carter, Mrs. Magalue Bradshaw, and Mrs. Elene Brinkley and four brothers, Willie Carter, Robert Carter, Clarence Carter, and Rayford Carter. Casket bearers will be Chuck Wooten, Johnny Hanchey, Tommy Blake, and Harry Bradshaw.
