Mrs. Lillie Mae Jackson Savage, 90, departed this life January 11, 2011 at Hospice & LifeCareCenter in Wilmington, NC. Born in Duplin County on December 31, 1920, Mrs. Savage was the daughter of the late John Liscor Jackson and Bertie Young Jackson. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by husband Cleo Edward Savage, a son, Dr. Kenneth Edward Savage; three brothers, Bertis Jackson, Wilbert Jackson and Hubert Jackson; and one sister, Virginia Jackson Brinkley Rowell. She is survived by three daughters; Carolyn Alderman (Dan) of Wilmington, Sylvia Knight (Dennis) of Martinsville, VA and Connie Faircloth of Beulaville; daughter-in-law, Rachel Savage of Kannapolis; six grandsons, ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Savage was a lifelong active and devoted member of Corinth Baptist Church. She will also be remembered by her family and friends for her love of cooking and her green thumb but most of all for her skill as an expert seamstress. She had a vision for design, an eye for detail, and a passion for perfection.
