Mrs. Loretta Pierce Sholar, age 70, of Wallace died Sunday at the Brian Center in Wallace. She is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Swinson and husband Ronnie and Lori Horrell and husband David, both of Wallace, NC, one granddaughter, Rebekah Swinson and one grandson, Matthew Swinson, both of Wallace, NC, two brothers, Harmon Pierce and wife Elizabeth of Hickory, NC and Arden Pierce and wife Carol of Wallace, NC, one sister, Vera Jones of Wallace, NC and several nieces and nephews. Born March 27, 1941 in Duplin County, Mrs. Sholar was the daughter of the late Afton and Hettie Brown Pierce and was a member of Oak Dale PFWB Church. She loved sewing, gardening, singing and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Thomas Jefferson Sholar. Casket bearers will be John Pierce, Daniel Wells, James Brown, Gary Mattingly, Brett Phillips and Tyler Brown. Honorary bearers are: Brandon Pierce, Joe Jones, Joe Scronce, Randy Sholar, Stanley Cavenaugh, Irvin Graham, Deuland Sholar, Lou Fucili, Bobby Sholar, Heber Raynor and Duland Jenkins.
