Mrs. Louise W. Whaley age 85 passed away peacefully at Duplin General Hospital surrounded by her daughters on Thursday, July 16, 2009. She was a compassionate, virtuous, and sometimes very witty lady who taught her daughters many life lessons. She was always there for her girls, friends, and other family members. She left her family and friends many beautiful and happy memories that will be cherished for the rest of their lives and will help the family and friends through this time of sorrow. Her daughters are thankful to have been blessed by such a wonderful mother and have promised her that someday the family circle will be complete again. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, July 19, 2009 from Padgett Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Donnie Seagle. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens at Warsaw, NC. She is survived by five daughters, Faye Whaley of Kenansville, Betty Murray and husband Joe of Wallace, Barbara Weaver and husband Andy of Raleigh, Karen House and husband Bob of Wallace, Sharon Seagle and husband Donnie of Hernando, Florida; three grand-daughters, Angie Boone and husband Gene of Warsaw, Christen Weaver of Chapel Hill, Chelsea Usher of Hernando, Florida; two grandsons, Craig Usher of Hernando, Florida, Brady Weaver of Raleigh; great grand-daughter, Allie Boone of Warsaw; great grandson Benjamin (B.J.) Boone of Warsaw; one sister, Minnie Adell Turner of Beulaville; one brother, John Thomas Whaley and wife Nancy of Magnolia. Mrs. Whaley was a native of Wilson County and a long time resident of Duplin County. She was the daughter of the late Ira Whaley and Ellen Bradberry Whaley, and preceded in death by her husband Clarence Whaley of 63 years; one daughter, Helen Marie Whaley; one sister, Carrie Mae Wheeler;three brothers,Edward Whaley, Lonnie Whaley and Ernest Whaley. Mrs. Whaley was a member of the Carroll Street Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church in Magnolia and served as a Sunday School Teacher, Choir member, and a member of the Ladies Auxillary. Casket Bearers will be Denver McMahan, Jason Bryant, Raymond Cavenaugh, Brady Weaver, Dennis Chambers, and Gene Boone. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Carolina East Home Care and Hospice, Kenansville, N.C., or the American Heart Association. The family would also like to express special appreciation to her family physician, Dr. Daniel Ricci who has cared for her for many years and Duplin General Hospital ICU & 2nd North staff, Dr. Adediran and Dr. Pate, and the nursing staff and all other staff members who made special efforts to care for Ms. Whaley and make her comfortable in her last days. The family will receive at Padgett Funeral Home from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, Saturday, July 18 and at 140 NC Hwy 903 and 11 North other times.
