Obituary

Mrs. Madeline Hearn Jarman, age 90, of Teachey, formerly of Harrells, died Friday February 3, 2012 at CarolinaEast Medical Center in New Bern. She is survived by a son, Charles Luke Jarman and wife Susan Southerland Jarman of Marietta, GA, a daughter, Sue Jarman Whitty and husband Frederick Hines Whitty of New Bern, NC, two grandchildren, Ashley Susan Jarman and Chris Bedell of Acworth, GA and Sheridan Whitty Robinson and husband John Stephen Robinson of Wake Forest, NC, a great granddaughter, Brooke Sheridan Robinson, three sisters, Miriam Hearn Tucker of Teachey, NC, Eloise Hearn Thorp of Watha, NC and Ruth Hearn Eakins and husband Horace Eakins of Watha, NC and many nieces and nephews. Born December 6, 1921 in Duplin County, Mrs. Jarman was the daughter of the late Charles Hildreth and Edna Hearn McMillan. She was a member of Teachey Presbyterian Church where she served as a Presbyterian Elder and was a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Jarman also served as a Town Commissioner for Teachey. She loved fishing, puzzles, dominoes, card games and quilting. She was a retired Postmaster of Harrells for 31 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luke Jarman of 48 years, three brothers, Charles Hearn, Jr., Walden Hearn and Craig Hearn and three sisters, Edna Cascioli, Neta Pistner and Hilda Kelly. Casket bearers will be Herbie Tucker, Michael Pistner, Walden Hearn, Ruffin Jarman, Noel Hearn and Ray Kelly.
