Mrs. Margaret Benton Powell age 82 of Wallace died Tuesday May 18, 2010 at Pender Memorial Hospital in Burgaw. She is survived by three daughters, Carol Powell Pierce and husband Arden of Wallace, Sue Powell Pate of Waldorf, MD, Faye Powell Murphy of Wallace; two brothers, Roy Lee Benton and wife Lib of Wallace, Harold Dean Benton and wife Barbara of Teachey; six grandchildren, Daniel White Wells, Timothy Coy Wells and wife Hope, Brandon Glenn Pierce, Micah Carol Murphy and Dana Sue Murphy, all of Wallace and Erin Matthews Rouse of Kenansville; two great grandchildren, Tyler Matthis and Bailey Wells. A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Powell was the daughter of the late William Thomas and Wilma Knowles Benton. She was a Retired Beautician and a member of First Baptist Church of Wallace. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Hubert Benton, Gerald Benton and Jim Benton, two sisters, Eva Benton Leonard, Ann Benton Milton and a granddaughter, Amanda Carol Pierce.
