Mrs. Marie Hunter Cottle Pope, age 88 of Watha, NC, died on April 10, 2016 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington, NC. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. at Padgett Funeral Home Chapel in Wallace, NC conducted by Rev. David Justice. The family will receive family and friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Padgett Funeral Home.

She is survived by her sons, William Earl Cottle and wife Carolyn of Calypso, NC, James Cottle of Castle Hayne, NC, Johnnie Pope of Magnolia, NC and Jessie Pope of Magnolia, NC, her daughter, Evelyn Pace and husband Joe of Watha, NC, her sisters, Nora Wash and husband Arthur of Xenia, OH and Mary Rouse and husband Tommy of Kinston, NC, her brother, Raymond Hunter and wife Grace of Richmond, VA and grandchildren, Merle, Tina, Roy, Nicki, Robert, Virginia, Jamie, Kelly, Casey, Earl and Justin.

She was born on March 9, 1928 in Duplin County, NC to the late Trudie Hunter Bradham. She is also predeceased by her husbands, William Earl Cottle and Johnnie Pope, her son, Jeffrey Cottle, two grandchildren, Jamie Cottle and Brett Gable and a great grandchild, Ashley Marapese.
