Mrs. Mary Jane Waters Bland age 88 of 1159 Bull Tail Road, Harrells died Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Davis Health Care Center in Porters Neck. A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Wells Chapel Baptist Church in Harrells. Burial will follow in Wells Chapel Cemetery. She is survived by one daughter, Ciscelia Bland Greer and husband Robert of Garner; two sons, Tommy Bland and wife Teresa of Gastonia, Doug Bland and wife Cherry of Wilmington; one brother William Austin (Bill) Waters of Atlantic Beach; seven grandchildren, Spring Walsh and husband Eric of Kernersville, Trellis Lasley and husband Ricky of Reidsville, Travis Bland and wife Tara of Hickory, Summer Greer of Raleigh, Jason Greer of Garner, Nicholas Bland of Wilmington, and Zachary Bland of Wilmington; four great grandchildren, Timothy Lasley, Salem Walsh, Marlee Bland and Tucker Bland; one sister-in-law, Rosa Waters of Grifton, NC. A native of Guilford county, Mrs. Bland is the daughter of the late Thomas Waters and Marjorie Ciscelia Haynes. She is preceded in death by her husband Theodore C. Bland and one brother Maxwell (Max) Waters. The family will receive at Padgett Funeral Home from 7:00 to 9:00 pm Tuesday and at the residence of Earlenne Southerland, 114 Sunset Road, Wallace other times. The family would like to thank the caring staff of the Brian Center in Wallace where Mrs. Bland was a resident for many years before going to Davis Health Care Center.
