Mrs. Mary Ann Fussell Teachey, age 84, went to be with her Lord on Friday, June 3, 2011. Mary Ann was born on April 10, 1927 in Rose Hill, NC, daughter of the late Paul Delon Fussell and Marvin Elizabeth (Daisy) Fussell. Preceeding her in death were her sisters, Doris Fussell Boaz, Marvin Elizabeth Fussell Teachey, Evelyn Fussell Bethune and two of her beloved nephews: Bobby Boaz and Bruce Teachey, III. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph Daniel Teachey, Jr. and her daughters: Mary Jo Robinson and husband Steve of Wallace; Karen Levings and husband John of Wallace; Gayle Atkinson and husband Willie of Currie. Seven grandchildren: Melissa Atkinson, Joseph Atkinson, Danielle Robinson, Lauren Levings, Mary Katherine Robinson, Jonathan Atkinson, and Cory Levings and dearly loved neices and nephews. Mary Ann was a dedicated teacher for 30 years. She began her teaching career in Penderlea and retired from Wallace Elementary School. She touched the lives of many students. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her children will tell you that she is the\"best\". Mary Ann faithfully served the Wallace United Methodist Church all of her married life where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Music was one of the great loves of her life and she enjoyed going and watching basketball games. With her dear friend Gretchen Teachey she co-wrote and published \"I Know He Loves Me\".
