Mrs. Mary Ellen (Rackley) Jones age 98 of Rose Hill, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Brian Center Health and Rehab in Wallace, NC.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Corinth Baptist Church, Rose Hill.  Burial will follow at Rockfish Memorial Cemetery in Wallace.  The family will receive from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Corinth Baptist Church, Rose Hill.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathryn Jones Teachey and husband Bobby of Wallace, NC, Jeanette Jones Murphy and husband Joseph W. of Wallace, NC, one son, Ivey E. Jones, Jr. of Wallace, NC, five granddaughters, Sheri Tinga, Allison Cavenaugh, Amy Teachey, Karen Thornton and Susan Wells, one grandson, Sonny Jones, nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Born November 2, 1914 in Duplin County, NC, Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late Leon Brant and Agnes (Raynor) Rackley and was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Ivey E. Jones, Sr., a daughter, Mary Jane Wells, a sister, Annie Lane, five brothers, Joe Rackley, John Rackley, Thomas Rackley, Marion Rackley and Floyd Rackley.  She was a life time member of Corinth Baptist Church.  She loved her garden, traveling and spending time with her family.  She also enjoyed music and could play the piano and harmonica.
