Mrs. Mary Ellen Lanier age 78 of Teachey died Thursday March 24, 2011 at Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville. She is survived by one sister, Mollie N. Young of Teachey, one brother, Jasper Young and wife Polly of Surf City, daughter-in-law, Betty R. Lanier, three grandchildren, Tracy Lanier Jones and husband Gary N. King, Tammy L. Taylor and husband Mike, all of Teachey and Jessica Lanier and 7 great grandchildren. A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Lanier was the daughter of the late Nelson and Henrietta King Young. She loved cooking and taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Joseph Nelson Lanier and two sons, Daniel Wayne Lanier and Joseph \"Joey\" Nelson Lanier.
